LOCATION (remote/distributed) · Work from one of our team locations and/or from home. Current team locations: United Kingdom, Spain, Cambodia, Bali, and Philippines.

HIRING PROCESS · When you make it past the interview stage we’ll do a project together on contract, typically lasting between two to six weeks to see how we work together. Then we offer you an annual contract position.

Web Designer

We are seeking a web designer to assist in design of all sorts of formats, to a certain extent self responsible, support the team in the development of websites and other media formats. We want someone with an eye for design and a passion for the process of creation.

Day to day activities include constant team collaboration, designing websites and web graphics. We place a high value on individuals who regularly participate in personal education and have a strong desire to be the best at what they do. This position is designed for those who want to focus on website design and hone their skillsets without the hassle of developing or writing code.

This will include:

• Working with a multi-faceted marketing team in the creation of web site layouts and email marketing designs
• Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for HTML illustrations, interactive design, and wp websites
• Create click flow diagrams and user Interface prototype layouts following Information Architecture briefs
• Develop new user-facing layouts and features
• Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
• Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
• Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
• Regular communication with team members and project manager
• Design business websites, pages, and additional features
• Create website graphics, infographics
• Design social media backgrounds
• Create web headers, banners and ads

Qualifications and training required

At least 2 years experience working in advertising agency or publisher.

Up-to-date design skills and an understanding of the web site development process are critical. If you are well-versed in visual design, color theory, typography, grid based design, and understand how these concepts are translated into web page layouts, then this is the position for you.

We would like you to supply evidence of your work, or a portfolio preferably.

Key skills

This is what our ideal candidate looks like:

• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites using WordPress
• Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience with building pages via Divi theme, and strong familiarity with concepts such as custom post types and custom fields
• Excellent design and photo-editing software
• Professional skills using Adobe software
• Exceptional creativity and innovation
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Professional approach to time and deadlines
• A basic understanding of conceptual design (corporate identity/ design)

Required

This is a web designer role so you MUST be able to create wireframes, mockups (to pixel scale) and style guides with a strong emphasis on UX. If you don’t know what UX is please do not apply.

• Must be able to create a website or graphic from design brief
• Must be able to create site mockups, user interface prototypes, and screen designs from information architecture plan
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites using WordPress
• Must have experience with the Divi Theme and/or Elementor frameworks
• Experience creating HTML marketing email designs
• An online portfolio, demonstrating your knowledge of graphic layout skills and techniques\
• 1+ years graphic/interactive design experience
• A college degree or equivalent real world design experience
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Bonus skills

If you have the following skills, we think that is great (not necessary, but great!):

• Experience in interface design (information architecture)
• An expert with Photoshop and/or Fireworks, Illustrator
• Experience working with responsive frameworks, like Bootstrap or Foundation
• Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations and company logos
• DPI knowledge
• Experienced with CSS based layout design a plus
• Ad copy or marketing experience
